Warhol Croydon is expected to be one the largest cultural events in the capital this year.

Commemorating the life and work of Andy Warhol, one of the biggest names in 20th century art, the event takes place in Croydon town centre throughout September

Andy Warhol, born 6th August 1928, was an American illustrator, filmmaker and producer who revolutionised what we know as pop art and also video art.

From the iconic Campbell's Soup Cans to his Marilyn Monroe art pieces, Warhol's creative genius has inspired a variety of industries, namely fashion.

Croydon’s award-winning RISEgallery has been granted exclusive access to create a ground-breaking programme of FREE activities celebrating the artist’s achievements, 30 years after his death.

There will be guided tours, documentary and film showings and family friendly activities, such as art inspired events via our Weenies Kids Club.

Amongst the 12 giant Warhol homages to be displayed on buildings throughout Croydon, there will be a 4.5m x 4.5m Chanel art installation on the Whitgift entrance!

Centrale will also host selected film projections of Warhol's screen tests in the lower mall throughout September.
